The Silmarillion is a posthumously-published work by J. R. R. Tolkien. It is essentially the history of the world that he wrote about in The Lord of the Rings, though a history with its preoccupations (the things that John wanted to write about the most).
I'll provide some links at the bottom of the page if you wish to dig into the book, the scholarship arounding it, and the study of the languages in the book. But the main point of this webpage is hosting my own fanfiction, so let's get into it.
Carin; Caruvan (I Do; I Will): One of the finest works I have ever written. Written in high language with a very low subject matter: Sick of their squabbling, gossiping, and undermining, on the night of his coronation Fingon Astaldo offers to fight every single one of the sons of Feanor, one after another, to shut their treasonous mouths for good. There's 'thee/thou', there's Quenya poetry, there's incest, there's violence.
Mockingbird: Without question the most beloved fic I have ever written. Mockingbird follows Maglor, son of Feanor, on his quest to further complicate the most inexplicable interpersonal realtionships known to elvenkind. Russingon + Maglor. A quick read but, I am told, a haunting one.
My Personal Rarepair Hell: The aptly-named 'Personal Rarepair Hell' is a trilogy of fanfictions I wrote about a rarepair that I made up myself and which only I have ever written for in the fifty year existence of the Silmarillion fandom. I wasn't trying to make up a weird ship for the sake of it, I had a vision and reluctantly commited to it. I commited really hard; this thing is long, complicated, and constantly has captive readers wailing 'why is this thing so good (considering what it is)??' I don't know, but you're stuck here with me.
One can do shameful things in daylight, too: Explicit sex between Feanor, tyrant of Formenos, and his upstart (half-)nephew Fingon. Half about absolutely nasty male/male incest and half about the intolerable pressures of living as a queer outcast under puritanical facism. There's also a questionable intertextual relationship with Euripedes' Bakkhoi!
Spoils/Treasures: Spoils is about orcs retreiving and loving the handcrafted objects of dead elves. The elves, in order, are Fingon, Maeglin, and Aegnor. The orcs are Iluk, Teug, and Gris. You might like them.
Black Velvet Band: A Curufin/Finrod longfic I abandoned because, after 85K WORDS, I realized I did not like how I had written Curufin. The 'Curufin' in this fic is a good character but too OOC for me to take. I feel like I didn't understand his character well enough when I wrote this as a stress-relief project; shame, because the Finrod content is pretty damn good. I had half-toyed with going back and editing this one, but after I overhauled my entire understanding of Curufin to write Can There be a Name, I knew BVB was officially deceased.
Unfinished 'Young Nolofinwe' Concept: A couple scenes and the outline of a fic that explored the possibility of Nolofinwe being born even after some of Feanaro's sons. This fic would have focused on the relationship of adolescent Nolofinwe with his much odler nephew, Nelyafinwe, who grows close to his young uncle as an act of rebellion against his father, slowly pulling Nolofinwe into familiy and palace politics. It didn't pan out, but the idea was good enough that frankly I'm putting this up as an 'up-for-grabs' idea. Go for it.
I write in Quenya sometimes! Usually short poems (or translations of poems in other languages). Carin, Caruvan above has thick sections of original Quenya, but I have some scattered bits of this and that here as well.
